Ms Alisha
IP English and General Paper Teaching Specialist

Alisha is a dedicated educator with a passion for language, literature, and student growth. A former MOE English Language and Literature teacher, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature ( Hons., Highest Distinction ) from Nanyang Technological University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education ( Credit ) from the National Institute of Education.

Rejecting the fear-based ‘kiasu’ mindset that often overwhelms students, Alisha champions an education grounded in critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and language mastery—skills that extend beyond the examination hall and into all aspects of life. She firmly believes that every child, regardless of their starting point, deserves to grow under the thoughtful guidance of a skilled educator.

Alisha has worked extensively with students of low to mid-readiness, developing a keen understanding of how to help them build essential linguistic and cognitive skills. Drawing on her experience with diverse learners across various schools and levels, she meets students where they are, adapting her teaching to bridge learning gaps and strengthen foundational skills. Her empathetic and structured approach has empowered many students to overcome weaknesses in language and critical thinking, often exceeding expectations in their academic performance.

As part of her commitment to curriculum development and student engagement, Alisha has played a pivotal role in designing and refining pedagogical resources that are both thought-provoking and accessible. With a focus on relevance to national examination standards and modern society, her materials encourage students to think critically while remaining engaging and practical. As education evolved in the digital era, she seamlessly integrated EdTech tools such as the Student Learning Space (SLS) to enhance accessibility and impact, ensuring students benefited from structured, high-quality learning experiences. Her work has not only reassured students and parents but also set a benchmark for pedagogy that is both innovative and responsive to student needs. Beyond content creation, Alisha has also advised and guided fellow educators on effectively implementing these resources in their classrooms.

Outside of teaching, Alisha’s curiosity extends to the kitchen, where she enjoys experimenting with new recipes from around the world—a reflection of her ever-inquisitive and explorative nature.
